Police Blotter 11/26

Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Police received a 911 call from the 1100 block of Maple shortly before midnight Friday, but the caller was so intoxicated that he could not or would not explain to police why he had called.
A routine check showed an outstanding contempt of court warrant from Texico Municipal Court on the caller, who was arrested and transported to the Curry County Adult Detention Center.
Police responded to the 220 block of Sheldon where a stray cat attacked a woman attempting to catch it.
Officers were unable to determine the cat’s owner and transported it to the animal shelter for quarantine purposes. The cat was described as white with black ears and a black nose.
The Clovis Fire Department responded Friday afternoon to a report of a child in a tree at an elementary school. Fire personnel reported that the child was playing hide and seek behind a tree and slipped down behind the tree, where his knee became wedged in a split in the trunk of the tree.
Firefighters lifted the child out of the wedged area after maneuvering the leg until they were able to free the child.
