William Wesley Ent Jr., 69, of Clovis died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, in Lubbock.
He was born Aug. 21, 1934, in Savannah, Mo., to William Wesley and Florence Rebecca Moore Ent. He graduated high school in 1953 and the University of Missouri at Columbia in 1960, served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1959, and retired in 1984 with 32 years’ service in the Naval Reserve.
He married Rhoda Kathryn Boatright Ogden on June 3, 1961, in Savannah.
He began employment with the Social Security Administration in January 1966 at the Mid-America Program Service Center in Kansas City, Mo., then in 1973, he moved to the branch office in Clovis.
He retired in August 1994.
He was a member of the Methodist Church at Lawson, Mo., and Masonic Lodge 393 where he was a Past Worshipful Master.
Survivors include his wife of the home in Clovis; two sons, Lloyd Boatright and Mark (and wife Sandy) Boatright, all of Savannah; a daughter, Cherie Ent of Liberty, Mo.; a sister, Yvonne Schluter of Las Cruces; two grandchildren, Steve and Shelly Gibson of Cosby, Mo.; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Tiffanny Gibson of Cosby.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Ent, and his parents.
Visitation will follow Masonic services until 8 tonight at Muffley Funeral Home Chapel.
Services in Savannah, Mo., will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Savannah United Methodist Church. Richard Piper, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Savannah Cemetery with military honors.
Honorary pallbearers are Charles Howard, Lloyd Boatright, Mark Boatright, Mark Bridinger, Carl Thompson, Eddie McCormick and Tony Romero.
