CAFB fighter jets set for deployment

Cannon Air Force Base has released additional information about the upcoming deployment of the 522nd Fighter Squadron to the Arabian Gulf.
Base commander Col. Robert “Rowdy” Yates, who heads up the 27th Fighter Wing, will lead the deployment of six F-16 fighters and more than 155 support personnel to a four-week joint allied training exercise to the undisclosed Arabian Gulf location.
According to Cannon Public Affairs, the pilots and planes, along with crew chiefs, maintainers and administrative personnel will depart in the early morning hours of Jan. 17 and 18.
