Richard Rubio, 50, of Clovis died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, at his home.
He was born Nov. 2, 1953, in San Antonio. He married Lucia Mondragon on Feb. 8, 1975, in Clovis.
He was a transportation inspector for the Port of Entry, State of New Mexico. He was a member at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community and the Knights of Columbus. He was part of the CGAA and Womens Softball League for 17 years.
Survivors include his wife, Lucia Rubio of the home; two daughters, Sonya Rubio (Adolfo Garza), and Manuela (Calvin T.) Brown, both of Clovis; three grandchildren, Carlos Rubio, Eliana Uvalli, and Aliya Uvalli; a sister, Jane (Billy) Garcia of Clovis; a half-sister, Marie Sanchez of San Antonio; three half brothers, Frankie Canalas, Ray Orozco and Roy Orozco, all of San Antonio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Manuela Rubio, and a brother, Ruben Rubio.
Rosary will be said at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community.
The Rev. Sotero Sena will officiate.
Honorary pallbearers are all who he came in contact with.
