Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
Police were dispatched to the labor and delivery ward of a local hospital about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in reference to a possible battery victim.
The pregnant woman said she had been in a scuffle with her boyfriend Monday afternoon and came to the ward to check out the condition of the baby.
Hospital staff did not observe any noticeable marks resulting from the altercation. She did have a bruise on one arm, but explained it was the result of “rough play” with her boyfriend.
The reporting officer said there was not enough evidence to obtain a warrant for the arrest of the male subject.
The girl planned on getting a restraining order anyway.

Police observed a truck Monday blaring music on Purdue Street.
The officer followed the truck into a nearby parking lot and advised the driver, a male subject, that his music was too loud.
The subject was issued a non-traffic citation and let go.

Officers were dispatched Monday night to the 600 block of Sixth Street in reference to criminal damage that occurred to a rental house.
The woman renting the property told police she returned from out of town to find the house ransacked.
The owner of the house said he arrived at the residence earlier on Monday to find two unidentified females on the front porch. The two subjects said the woman renting the property had moved out. The owner told them to leave.
The two women on the porch may have been girlfriends of the renter’s separated spouse, the renter said.
The case is still active.
