Company to become K-Bob’s franchisee
A publicly traded company has agreed to become a franchisee in the K-Bob’s restaurants, said Ed Tinsley, president and chief executive officer of K-Bob’s USA. The first K-Bob’s Steakhouse was opened in 1966 in Clovis, according to the company Web site.

In return for a long-term $1.5 million loan to K-Bob’s, Star Buffet will be allowed to open new restaurants, convert some of their existing units to K-Bob’s, acquire some K-Bob’s franchised and company units and to gain potential partial ownership of the licensing company, K-Bob’s USA Inc.

“We are excited to have them as part of our K-Bob’s family,” Tinsley said. “There are no immediate changes planned, as this is more of a strategic alliance to strengthen both of our companies so that we can take the K-Bob’s brand to new heights.”
