Trevor Wade Burrell, 19 of Canyon, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, in Amarillo.
He was born on Feb. 27,1985, in Canyon, Texas.

He graduated from Canyon High School in 2003 and enlisted in the U. S. Army on July 22, 2003. He completed his basic training at Fort Benning, Ga. and was assigned overseas to Camp Casey, South Korea. He received numerous awards while in the military. Upon his return from Korea, he was assigned to Fort Hood, Texas with the 4th Infantry Division Bravo Co. 1st Battalion 66 Armor. He had recently been promoted to Specialist E 4 and was waiting for deployment to Iraq. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother Tina Short (and husband, Roger) of Canyon, Texas; his father, Wayne Burrell (Janet) of Dalhart, Texas; a sister, Shirece Burrell of Lubbock; three step-sisters, Alyssa and Alyssen Short, both of Canyon, Texas, and April Geistman of Victoria, Texas; a step-brother, J.W. Geistmant of Victoria, Texas; and his grandparents, Jerry and Reacie Simpson of Skellytown, Texas, Coy and Shirley Burrell of Clovis, Loyd and Nell Short of Canyon, Texas, Lin Drennan of Borger, Texas, and Don and Lonna Dorsey of McLean, Texas.

The Rev. David Lowrie and the Rev. Ricky Griffin will officiate the services.

Chaplain Terry Callis will officiate the burial.

Burial will be at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon, Texas.
