Mr. Henry Ervin Hathorn Jr., 79, of Clovis, died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at his home.

He was born on June 19, 1925, in Clovis, to Henry Ervin Hathorn Sr. and Maggie Regina Cooper Hathorn.

He married Maxine Craft on Jan. 26, 1951, in Clovis. He graduated from Clovis High School in 1943. He was a World War II veteran, serving as a paratrooper. He returned to the family farm after his tour in the service where he farmed until his retirement in 1990. He was also the owner of Clovis Hog Co. for 22 years. He was a member of the Curry County 42 Club, Center Methodist Church and Trinity Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Pearl Bailey and Opal Sheppard; and a grandson, Chad Hathorn.

Survivors include his wife; a brother, Earl Hathorn of Las Cruces; a sister, Ruby Steele of Sidney, Texas; two sons, Gary Hathorn of Aztec and Randy Hathorn of Lubbock; two daughters, Diane Fris of Hobbs and Perri Hathorn of Eunice; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Herbert Bergstrom and the Rev. Greg Martin will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.

Pallbearers are Craig Breshears, Jack Cornelius, Joe King, James and Butch Priest and Paul Reed.

Honorary pallbearers are Joel Butler, Harold Dalbom, Dr. Alan Haynes Jr., Preston Martin and members of the Curry County 42 League.

Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.
