Helen Raposa, 45, of Clovis, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
She was born on Aug. 23, 1959, in Vaughn, to Noah M. and Alice Montoya Rael.
She was raised in Vaughn and Clovis. She attended school in Clovis. She married Ronald Raposa on March 26, 1998, in Clovis. She was employed as a custodian with Clovis public schools. She retired on March 29, 2002. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis. Family members said she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her grandchildren, visiting casinos, swimming and watching scary movies.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joann Margaret Baca; and her father, Noah Margarito Rael.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, George Eloy Baca (and wife, Victoria) of Clovis and Christopher Raposa of North Pole, Alaska; a daughter, Lynn Raposa of Clovis; her mother, Alice Rael of Clovis; three sisters, Mary Marquez of Albuquerque, and Joanne Rael and Margaret Rael, both of Clovis; and four grandchildren Noah, Angelina, Jeremiah, and Daiza Baca, all of Clovis.
A rosary is scheduled for 6 p.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis.
Father Colman Heffern will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Vaughn.
Pallbearers are Joanne and Margaret Rael, Jessica Serna, Victoria Baca, Lucia and Denise Chavez, Krystal Elena Loera, and Carla Lopez.
Honorary pallbearers are the intensive care unit staff at PRMC and employees and friends of Border Games in Farwell.
Arrangements are by Chavez Funeral Home of Fort Sumner.
