Mr. James Arthur Crook, 62, of Clovis, Friday, Aug. 12, 2005, at his home.

He was born on Aug. 9, 1943, in Clovis, to Clarence and Bessie Crook.

He married Jean Pace in August of 2002 in Clovis. He was a graduate of Clovis High School. He worked as a press operator for the Clovis News Journal and in the maintenance department of the Clovis Public Schools. He was past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Clovis, and a member of the National Rifle Association, the Clovis Auxiliary Police Force, and the Clovis Five Watters Club. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Clovis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Norma Robertson; and an infant brother and sister.

Survivors include his wife; a sister, Marilyn Crook Chumbley (and husband, Lewis) of Huntsville, Texas; two step-daughters, Mona Thurman and Deana Tories; a stepson, David Robertson; a nephew, Darren Chumbley of Huntsville, Texas; and a niece, Glenna Chumbley of Huntsville, Texas.

Walter Huber will officiate the services.

Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.

Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Colvin, Lewis “Bo”
Chumbley, Darren Chumbley, Dr. Jerry Crook, Eddie Villa Sr., and Don Crook.
