Marilyn Kay Wylie

Marilyn Kay Wylie, 63, of Fort Sumner, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, at her home.

She was born Jan. 16, 1942, in Clovis to Vincent A. and Erma Stallard. She was raised and attended school at Fort Sumner, graduating with the class of 1960.

She married Donald R. Wylie on July 9, 1960, in Fort Sumner. She was employed at the Fort Sumner schools for three years and worked at De Baca General Hospital for 19 years until her retirement in April 2001.

Family members said she was a loving wife, daughter, mother and grandmother and enjoyed babysitting for all her grandchildren and visiting with her friends over coffee at Addison Drug Store. She was a member of Rainbow Girls.

She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Glenda Hopper.

Survivors include her husband; daughter, Penny Marshall (and her husband Scott) of Fort Sumner; sons, Donald Ray Wylie II (Pat) of Minneapolis, Kan. and Michael Wylie (Weslea) of Santa Rosa; her mother of Fort Sumner; brothers, Vincent Stallard and John Stallard (Kim) of Fort Sumner; sister, Sharon Harrelson of Houston; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Wanda Robins (Terry) of Minneapolis, Kan; brother-in-law, Keith Wylie (Judy) of Clovis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Skip Clark is officiating.

Burial will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Donald Ray Wylie, Michael Wylie, Scott Marshall and John Wylie.

Arrangements are by Chavez Funeral Home of Fort Sumner.
