Sena, Carlos T.

Carlos T. Sena, 88, of Fort Sumner, died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, at Laurel Skies Nursing Home in Albuquerque.

He was born Aug. 29, 1917, in Fort Sumner to Jose C. Sena and Estefanita Trujillo. He married Christine Casaus on April 17, 1937, in Santa Rosa. He was a carpenter and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a lifelong Catholic and member of St. Anthony Parish in Fort Sumner.

Family members said he loved horses and animals.

He was preceded in death by sisters Odelia Casaus, Aurelia Lucero and Alberta Gonzales; brothers, Salomon T. Sena, Olegario T. Sena, Raymundo T. Sena, Alfonso T. Sena, Anastacio T. Sena; son-in-law, Albaro Griego; daughter-in-law, Della Sena; and grandson, Michael Griego.

Survivors include his wife, of Rio Rancho; daughters, Charlotte Griego of Fort Sumner; Lourdes Neito (and husband Ernest) of Rio Rancho, Barbara Madrid (Tom) of Rio Rancho, Mary Madrid (Alfredo) of Albuquerque, Terry Griego (Raymond) of Colorado Springs, Colo., Veronica Madrid (Ernest) of Rio Rancho, Margaret Barrera (Rudy) of Amarillo, Texas, and Isabell Lamkin (Lloyd) of Albuquerque; sons, Jim Sena of Santa Rosa, Larry Sena (Martha) of Crownpoint, Ind., Johnny Sena and Joe Sena (Patricia) of Fort Sumner; brother R.T. Sena of Fort Sumner; 28 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. today at the Chavez Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Sumner. A second rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner.

Steve Gallegos will lead the prayers and Father Jerry Johnson is officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home of Fort Sumner.
