Peggy Miller, 74, died Monday, March 6, 2006, in Hurst, Texas.
She was born Feb. 27, 1932, in Paris, Texas, the oldest child of Harrison and Glessie Drake.
She graduated from Clovis High School as valedictorian and from Eastern New Mexico University and received her master’s degree in reading from the University of North Texas. Prior to moving to Hurst, she taught in Odessa and Alpine. She retired in 1993 from Midway Park Elementary School in the Hurst-Euless -Bedford Independent School District after a 34-year career as an elementary teacher.
Family members said she enjoyed spending her retirement time with her family and caring for a granddaughter with special needs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob W. Miller.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Adair and Donna Stevens (and husband, Charlie); four granddaughters, Alysa, Sarah and Colleen Stevens, and Jessica Adair; a grandson, Keelan Adair; brothers, Donald Drake and Richard Drake (Marcia); and a sister, Paula Sherman.
The family has suggests memorials be made to Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital, 2222 Welbourn, Dallas, TX 75219, or Cook Children’s Medical Center, Development Office, 801 Seventh Ave., Fort Worth, TX 76104.
