Weaver, May

May Weaver, 93, of Clovis died Friday, March 24, 2006, at Farwell Convalescent Center in Farwell.

She was born Jan. 12, 1913, in Weston, Mo., to John and Florence Lober.

Her family homesteaded in Vaughn in 1907. Before she was born, the family traveled back to Weston, Mo. She grew up and graduated from school in Vaughn in 1930. She married Allen Dee Weaver on Dec. 26, 1931, in Santa Rosa.

She lived a short while in Arkansas and Texas, but returned to Vaughn in 1942 to raise a family. She began working for Mountain Bell Telephone in Vaughn in 1949 and retired in 1975.

The family moved to Clovis in 1995.

She quilted and embroidered many quilt tops, family members said.

She was a member of 16th and Pile Church of Christ, where she sewed lap robes for the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, in 1975; two brothers, John Elliot Lober Jr. and Franklin Lober ,who died during World War II; a sister, Louise Morris; a daughter, Lorna May Weaver; and two sons, Allen Dee Weaver Jr. and Leonard Wilford Weaver

She is survived by three daughters, Leona Hughes of Clovis, and Loyce Troia and Barbara DeVore, both of Phoenix; a sister, Alleta Ellewell of Gravois Mills, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Jim Gammon will officiate services.

Burial is at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Kenneth and Kelley Weaver, Bradley and Bill Hughes, and Chris DeVore, and her great-grandson, Richard Blake.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends and relatives.
