Arrowood, James

Retired Chief Master Sgt. James William Arrowood, 71, of Cleveland, Tenn., died Sunday, April 16, 2006, in Cleveland.

Born in Marble, N.C., he grew up in Murphy, N.C. He served honorably for 30 years in the U.S. Air Force, including serving in Vietnam and numerous duty stations around the world. He was stationed at Cannon Air Force Base from 1978 to 1983, when he retired from the Air Force.

He and his wife, Connie Sue Arrowood, then moved to Clovis, where they lived until 1988. They worked at Sutton’s Bakery, and he later worked at the Curry County Jail.

He was a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association, VFW Post 3015, Vietnam Veterans of America Tennessee Chapter 0596, American Legion Post 81 and DAV Chapter 25. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Hazel Carpenter Arrowood; and two brothers, Jerry Arrowood and an infant.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, of Cleveland; two sons, Patrick Arrowood (and wife, Betsy) of Cleveland and Gary Arrowood of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two daughters, Kimberly Hendrickson (C.J.) of Vincent, Ohio, and Stephanie Feazell (Wayne) of Swansboro, N.C.; five grandchildren, Heather Lynn (Ian) of Vincent, Ohio, Emily Balderson of Marietta, Ohio, Andrew Feazell of Swansboro, and James Arrowood and Sierra Johnson, both of Cleveland; and three great-grandchildren, Alexis Eliser, Kora Lynn and Grace Wagner.

The Rev. Darren Fansler will officiate services. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.
