Smiles and laughter abounded as children ranging from newborn to 12 gathered for the annual Easter Egg Hunt Saturday at Unity Park.
Sponsored by the 27th Medical Group’s Booster Club and Significant Other Support Club, the event featured pony rides, an Easter egg hunt, egg tossing, face-painting and even an appearance by the Easter bunny himself.
In the past, the event was held indoors because of bad weather, but not so this year. Warm temperatures and sunny skies made it “great having it outdoors, especially the egg hunt,” said Tech Sgt. Keith Eberhardt, 27th Medical Operations Squadron.
Because the event was outside, it meant volunteers could hide Easter eggs in premium spots as two ponies roamed the park area, available for guided rides.

The ponies were provided by Lisa Mitchell and were a big hit, said 1st Lt. Jennifer DeVenere, president 27th MDG Booster Club president and Group Practice manager
“My daughter’s favorite part was probably the pony ride,” said Senior Airman Michelle Graves, 27th MDOS and member of the Booster Club.
The lucky children who found a golden egg were rewarded with a stuffed bunny and a coupon book to McDonald’s.
Everyone who attended the event was treated to lunch, which was provided during the various activities.
“We just want to ensure people are having a good time,” said Yolanda Infante, 27th Medical Support Squadron and a Booster Club volunteer.
The 27th MDG’s Booster Club holds a variety of events for servicemembers and their families such as parties, fundraisers, and family support for deployed servicemembers, said Ms. Infante.

Providing avenues of enjoyment and building camaraderie were goals for the day, said Lieutenant DeVenere, adding, “Our goal is to have at least one event a month. We try to do fun things for the whole medical group.”
Despite few sticky hands from the egg toss, everyone enjoyed a nice day out thanks to the Booster Club’s willingness to plan events for all Airmen and their families.
