Portales nabs team titles at Texico

TEXICO — Portales swept the team titles Tuesday at the Texico Invitational track meet.

Tyler Anderson picked up wins in the 100 meters and 300 hurdles and Aaron Worten captured the 400 meters as Rams finished with 94 1/2 points. Fort Sumner was second with 66 and Texico third with 59.

Other winners in the boys meet included:

* Texico’s Mario Posada in the triple jump (38-5), Jonathan Sullivan in the 1,600 (5:04.32 and Edgardo Meza in the 200 (23.31);

* Clovis Christian’s Keeson Bell in the high jump (5-10);

* Fort Sumner’s Berry Stinnett in the 110 hurdles (11.24) and Gonzalo Martinez in the pole vault (10-6).

In the girls meet, Portales picked up wins by Jordan Roehl in the shot and discus, Kandace Bergseiker in the 200, and the 1,600 and medley relay teams and finished with 65 points. Texico was second with 58 1/2 and Clovis freshmen third with 54.

House’s Sara Lee captured the 100 and 300 hurdles, the long jump and triple jump.

Other winners in the girls meet included:

* Melrose’s Lauren Graham in the javelin (104-5) and Taneil Roberts in the triple jump (33-3 1/2) and 400 (1:06.06).
