Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
About 8 a.m. Sept. 14 an officer responded to a parking lot in the 1900 block of Prince Street for a hit and run.
A man told the officer his motorcycle had been hit while parked.
Video surveillance footage of a pickup led the officer to the other driver, who said he didn’t realize he had hit the motorcycle.
The driver of the pickup was given a citation for leaving the scene of an accident.

About 4:30 a.m. Sept. 15 an officer checking a parking lot in the 2000 block of Prince Street found two teen girls sleeping in a vehicle.
He woke them, noting a strong odor of alcohol. The girls admitted they had been drinking and were given citations and released to a parent.

Around noon Sept. 15 an officer responded to the emergency room at the hospital for a battery report.
A man told the officer a coworker had gotten mad at him for wearing a dress shirt and tie to work.
He said they argued and when the other man started advancing on him, he pushed him away and was knocked down and hit his head.

Around 8 p.m. Sept. 15 an officer responded to a home in the 400 block of Sunland Street to assist with a vehicle accident.
A woman told the officers she had a vehicle accident in her driveway and a man who saw the accident stopped his vehicle and told her he was a police officer. He said he needed to walk through her house with his dog to check for explosives.
The officer spoke with the man and noted a strong odor of alcohol. The man was arrested for driving under the influence and impersonating a police officer.

Around 1:30 a.m. Sept. 15 an officer responded to a report of public affray at a bar in the 700 block of Prince Street.
A man bleeding from the head and arm said two other men had broken his vehicle window with a bottle, pulled him out onto the street and beaten him.
One of the other men told the officer the man had come up and punched him then ran and got in his vehicle. He said they followed him and broke his window and started fighting with him.
All three were given citations for the incident.
