Samplings of recent reports filed by Clovis-area law enforcement officers:
About 1 a.m. Nov. 30 an officer on patrol in the area of east 21st Street saw a vehicle go through an intersection without stopping.
The vehicle did not pull over when the officer activated his emergency lights. The officer pursued the vehicle, which traveled at speeds up to 80 mph, until he was told by his supervisor to cease the pursuit.
The vehicle was found abandoned in the area of Fourth and Axtell streets. Officers had the vehicle towed.

Around noon Dec. 3 an officer responded to a school in the 1600 block of Sutter Place for a battery report.
A teacher told the officers he was monitoring students on the basketball court when he saw a 15-year-old boy kicking a 15-year-old who was laying on the ground.
The teacher said the youth pulled away from him when he tried to separate them and continued hitting and kicking the other boy.
The boy told the officer he was beating the other boy because he didn’t like him.

Around 1 p.m. Dec. 3 an officer responded to a larceny report at a parking lot in the 2000 block of Prince Street.
A woman said she was getting something out of her trunk and a man approached her and asked for help.
She said she put her purse in the trunk and the man snatched it, got in a vehicle, and drove away.
The suspect could not be located

About 4:40 p.m. Dec. 3 an officer responded to a business in the 1900 block of Prince Street for a report of a worthless check.
The owner of the business said a check written for more than $800 of jewelry had been returned by the bank for insufficient funds.
The man said when the check was presented to the bank a second time, the customer had closed the account.
