A district judge Wednesday reduced the bond of a Clovis man charged with 143 counts of child molestation.

Larry Hatcher, 47, was released on a $25,000 cash bond and ankle bracelet monitor Wednesday following an arraignment hearing in the 9th Judicial District Court, jail officials said.

Court records show Judge Stephen Quinn presided over the hearing.

Hatcher was arrested Dec. 5 and arraigned in magistrate court, where Judge Richard Hollis set bond at $2 million. The case was elevated to district court the next week, records show.

Hatcher is accused of forcing a now-16-year-old girl into having sexual relations with him for seven years or more, according to an arrest affidavit filed in Curry County Magistrate Court.

“I’m glad that there was some reasonableness in the bond,” said Roger Hatcher, the defendant’s older brother. “I expect this thing to go to trial and the truth to come out.”

Roger Hatcher, who declined to comment further, previously told the CNJ he supports his brother and believes his innocence will be proven.
