An overpass was dedicated Friday to Maj. Troy L. Gilbert, who died Nov. 27, 2006, when the plane he was piloting crashed in Iraq, according to 56th Fighter Wing Public Affairs at Luke.

Gilbert was killed when his F-16 Fighting Falcon crashed while he was providing close-air support to special operations forces about 40 miles north of Baghdad, according to military officials.

The plane he was flying was assigned to Cannon Air Force Base.

His wife, Clovis native Ginger Gilbert, was at the ceremony.

While at Luke AFB, Gilbert was the 56th Fighter Wing flying executive officer and flew with the 309th Fighter Squadron.
