Local women sentenced for permitting truancy

Two Clovis mothers will have to attend parenting classes and pay court fees after being convicted of allowing their children too many unexcused absences from school, according to a press release from the District Attorney’s office.

A 42-year-old woman was ordered to ensure her child is in school the remainder of the school year, attend a 16-week parenting program, and pay $55 in court fines and fees.
