Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
Around 8 a.m. May 20 an officer responded to a call of found property in an alley near the 600 block of Dawn Loop.
A city sanitation worker said he found a loaded revolver inside a grocery bag under a pile of trash.
A computer check determined the gun had not been reported stolen.
It was logged into evidence.

About 9 a.m. May 20 an officer on duty at a school in the 1900 block of Thornton was called to the office to assist with an out-of-control student.
An administrator told the officer he had a student in his office who had some type of radio or scanner in his backpack but the youth would not turn it over.
When the officer asked to see the device, the 17-year-old became belligerent.
The officer arrested the boy for disorderly conduct and took him to jail.

Around 9 a.m. Thursday an officer took an aggravated battery complaint by telephone.
A man said his adult son was staying with a friend in Clovis and was threatened at gunpoint by the friend’s stepfather the night before.
The friend’s stepfather admitted to police he threatened the 20-year-old and told him to leave the residence because he thought he was trying to move in on his wife.

Around 1 p.m. Thursday an officer responded to a hit-and-run accident in the area of Fifth and Main streets.
A woman said she was stopped at the intersection when another vehicle struck hers, then drove away.
She showed the officer damage to her rear bumper.
The officer located the driver of the other vehicle at her place of work. The woman said she was not involved in an accident.
The officer checked the woman’s vehicle and found damage consistent with the damage on the other vehicle.
The woman was issued a citation for leaving the scene of an accident.
