Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Around 4 p.m. Wednesday an officer was dispatched to a business in the 2000 block of Seventh Street for a theft report.

A female employee said she discovered her wallet was missing after she was notified someone was trying to withdraw money from her bank account.

The employee said she reviewed store surveillance footage and saw a female suspect reach into the store office and take her wallet.

The officer was told by the bank about $200 had been withdrawn from the woman’s account.

About 11 a.m.. Wednesday an officer was dispatched to a home in the 3000 block of Lore for a possibly deceased man.

Emergency responders were let into the home by an apartment manager, and found the 66-year-old man deceased.

A neighbor’s caretaker said she had last seen the man about three days before and went to check on him. She said she called police when she looked through the back door and saw him lying on the floor.

The officer noted there were no signs of foul play.

Around 8 p.m. Wednesday an officer responded to a home in the 900 block of Pecos for a domestic disturbance.

A woman said her son was intoxicated and being verbally abusive to everyone in the house. She said he had also been hitting the walls and she didn’t want him in the house.

The officer took the 39-year-old man into protective custody and took him to the jail for detoxification.

Around 10 p.m. Wednesday an officer responded to the 500 block of Eighth Street in reference to a dog trying to get in someone’s yard.

When the officer arrived, the female pit bull began advancing on him. When the dog began running toward him he said he shot at it three times. The dog died.

Neighbors said they saw the dog charging the officer. They said the dog had been wandering the neighborhood and had been aggressive toward other dogs and causing fear to residents.
