Free marriage workshop offered

By 27th SOW Public Affairs

The base chapel will sponsor a free marriage enrichment workshop from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 26 at the La Quinta Inn conference room located at 4521 N. Prince St. in Clovis.

The workshop teaches couples how to identify danger signs in a relationship, improve communication skills, resolve problems and differences and to re-discover the heart of their commitment.

The program is open to all couples, regardless of the length of their marriage. It includes a free lunch and free books and materials on marriage communication and conflict resolution. Each husband and wife will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course.

Based on the current number of active duty Cannon Airmen, available couple slots are divided among each Group in the 27th Special Operations Wing. If slots are not filled as the workshop approaches, the program will go to open registration for military. After that, it will be extended to civilian personnel.

Couples with children who use childcare through the Child Development Center for this one day only must pre-register children with CDC or an off-base child-care provider before Sept.19. CDC must have a copy of each child’s shot record. Parents must bring sufficient supplies of diapers, wipes, and formula, if applicable.

On Sept. 26 parents will take their children to their child-care provider.

To register for the course or for more information, contact your first sergeant or call the chapel at 784-2507 and ask for Master Sgt. Melissa Santaella or Chaplain (Capt.) Donald Bridges.
