Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

About 2 p.m. Sept. 19 an officer responded to a business in the 600 block of Georgia Street for a report of fraud.

An employee said a woman came in and paid her bill with a fake $50 bill.

The customer said she was approached earlier in the day by a couple who asked for change for a $50.

She said she gave them two $20 and a $10 bill and did not realize the $50 they gave her was fake.

The case is under investigation.


About 2:30 p.m. Sept. 19 an officer responded to a home in the 100 block of Columbia Lane for a burglary report.

A maintenance supervisor for a real estate company was there with a juvenile suspect.

The man said he had received a call that juveniles had broken into the home and when he arrived, he said he heard them yell “run” and could only catch one female.

The girl said she entered the house with six other teens.
