Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
About 9 p.m. an officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of Ruth Street for a domestic dispute in progress.
A man said he came home from a friend’s house and found the door barricaded shut.
He said he forced the door open and discovered his girlfriend had wedged a chair under the knob.
The woman said she barricaded the door because she thought her boyfriend was cheating on her. She said their argument was only verbal.
The officer documented their statements and noted he didn’t see any evidence of an altercation.

About noon Jan. 5 an officer responded to a report of a vehicle crash in the area of Manana and Prince streets.
Witnesses said a vehicle merged in front of a pickup truck and the driver of the truck rammed into the back of it, backed up and rammed it again, then rammed into another vehicle in traffic.
The officer spoke to the driver of the pickup, who said the vehicle he rammed into had cut in front of him and almost hit him.
He was arrested on two counts of aggravated battery.

About 5 p.m. Jan 6 an officer responded to the 1600 block of Pile Street for an intoxicated subject.
The officer found a man staggering in the area of 14th and Main streets.
When the officer stopped to talk to the man, he noted he was so intoxicated he had to lean on the patrol car for support and was crying and drooling excessively.
The officer transported the man to his mother’s house on Calhoun Street but the woman said she didn’t want her son staying with her because has violent tendencies.
The officer transported the 38-year-old to the jail for detoxification.

About 2 p.m. Jan. 8 an officer responded to a residence in the 700 block of Tierra Blanca for a theft report.
A woman said a statue of a girl holding a basket had been stolen from her yard.
The woman valued the statue around $50.

About 1 p.m. Jan. 8 an officer responded to a school in the 100 block of Commerce Way for a report of a student distributing pills to other students.
The officer interviewed four students ages 12 and 13.
One of the boys told the officer he had brought a bottle of pills his mother had placed in his room but said he threw them away.
Two other students acknowledged receipt of the pills and one of the students led police to a pill he had thrown away.
The officer identified the pill as Allegra, an allergy medication.
The incident is being investigated as felony distribution of a controlled substance.
