Feb. 10 Police Blotter

Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

About 9 a.m. Jan 27 an officer responded to a school in the 1400 block of Cameo Street for a report of possible narcotics.

A school administrator said a female student smelled of marijuana.

The officer searched the girl’s coat pockets and found a pipe with marijuana in it.

The officer noted the girl would receive a juvenile citation for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia when she returned to school.


Around 5 p.m. Jan. 27 an officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of Reid Street for a battery report.

A female said she was walking in the area of Elm and Gamma streets when a vehicle stopped beside her.

She said two males she knew got out and began to push and shove her and one of them punched her in the side of the face.

She said they were mad because she wouldn’t date them.

The officer noted she did not have any bruising or marks.

The officer tried to find the two males but was unsuccessful.


About 8 a.m. Jan 28 an officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of Dawn Loop for a missing persons report.

A woman said her adult daughter did not show up at her baby-sitter’s home to drop off her children and didn’t go to work.

The woman said her daughter was having problems with her former boyfriend and had a domestic violence order against him.

About four hours, later the 21-year-old returned home and told the officer her former boyfriend had kidnapped she and her children, forcing her to drive with him to Roswell.

She said she was afraid because he was acting strange and kept making sexual advances toward her.

The incident is being investigated as kidnapping and a violation of a domestic violence order.


Around 10 a.m. an officer responded to a residence in the 700 Connelly Street for a domestic dispute.

A 20-year-old female said she got in an argument with her mother because she wasn’t going to school and when her mother got in her face, she pushed her and she fell.

The woman’s older sister said she saw her sister push her mother, then her sister turned on her and started hitting her in the face when she told her to leave.

The 20-year-old was arrested for battery on a household member.
