Munitions Storage Area closes for inventory — The 27th Special Operations Equipment Maintenance Squadron Munitions Storage Area will perform a 100 percent munitions stockpile inventory on Tuesday. Only emergency issue requests, in writing, will be honored, following approval by the 27th Special Operations Maintenance Group commander. Information: 784-7222 or 784-2533.

Walk-in breast exam clinic — The 27th Special Operations Medical Group’s Women’s History Month Committee is sponsoring a walk-in breast exam clinic from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. March 24 and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. March 25. Information: 784-4078.

Creative writing contest winners
— The following individuals received awards in the Cannon Community Center’s creative writing competition. The competition is held almost every four months.

Winners in the adult category are:

1st Place: Amanda Peterson, wife of Staff Sgt. Parker Peterson, 27th Special Operations Group

2nd Place: Airman 1st Class Maynelinne De La Cruz, 27th Special Operations Wing Public Affairs office

3rd Place: Patricia McEldowney, 27th Special Operations Communications Squadron

The winner in the preteen category is:

Becky Rhode, daughter of Marge Rhode and Gary Rhode, 27th Special Operations Security Forces Squadro

Talent winners — Kaitlyn Dunn, daughter of Maj. Daniel Dunn, the 27th Special Operations Contracting Squadron commander, placed second in the teen Solo Instrumental Category of the 2008 Air Force Family and Teen Talent Contest. Jennifer Suan, daughter of Master Sgt. Eric Suan, 27th Special Operations Support Squadron placed third in the preteen Solo Category of the 2008 Air Force Family and Teen Talent Contest.
