ENMU women take fourth, men sixth in rodeo

Tori Bilberry won the average in breakaway roping, helping the
Eastern New Mexico University women’s rodeo team place fourth as last
weekend’s rodeo at West Texas College in Snyder, Texas.

Bilberry, a junior from Elida, posted a total time of 4.0 seconds
over two runs. Portales junior Joni Brakebill finished sixth in barrel

In men’s competition, ENMU finished sixth, as freshman Brock Dearing
teams with Cody Burney of West Texas College to win the team roping
competition. The pair won the first go with a time of 6.0 seconds and
finished third in the short go at 12.9 seconds. Tel Flewelling and Jake
Ward of Howard College tied for fifth in the first go of team roping,
and Grady Goodson of Portales joined Hayed Foreman of West Texas
A&M to take sixth place in the team roping average.

The teams travel to Howard County Junior College April 16-18.
