The New Mexico and Curry County Masonic Lodge #40 is celebrating their centennial with a degree festival today through Saturday.
The Curry County Masonic Lodge was chartered in Oct. 1909.
Arthur Tunnell, a member of Clovis’ lodge, described a degree festival as explaining different levels in a lodge and the excercise that make up the degrees.
Tunnell said each degree teaches a lesson, but different lodges go through different steps to achieve the lesson.
Tunnell said the lodge invited degree teams from Arizona, Oklahoma and Maryland, totaling about 80 out of state visitors.
