A parent company has reported no new information regarding Thursday’s fire at an egg plant near Farwell.
Tim Dawson, chief financial officer for Cal-Maine, based in Jackson, Miss., said there is no new information beyond what the company released Friday, one day after a fire destroyed four laying buildings and killed approximately 800,000 chickens.
Dawson said an investigation into the cause of the fire and a calculation of financial damage are ongoing, but he could not provide an estimated completion date for either.
