Three Roosevelt County residents face felony drug charges from two recent raids in Portales by city police, the Roosevelt County Sheriff and the Region 5 Drug Task Force.

Tamara Davis, 28, of Portales, was arrested Thursday, accused of distributing marijuana from her home in the 500 block of E. 1st Street, according to a release from Sheriff Darren Hooker.

Davis is being held at the Roosevelt County Detention Center in lieu of a $50,000 cash-only bond for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, a felony charge, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sunday, a raid by the same combined police forces in the 1000 block of West University ended with the arrests of Robert Hawkins, 39, and Virginia Jones, 29, according to Hooker.

Hooker said Hawkins is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. Additionally, Hawkins is being held without bond on a probation violation.

Hooker said Jones is charged with felony trafficking methamphetamine and distribution of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She is jailed in lieu of $100,000 cash bond.
