GOODWELL, Okla. — Sophomore middle blocker Jessica King posted 14 kills and six total blocks and junior outside hitter Veronica Valdez-Kent added a double-double with 12 kills and 12 digs as Eastern New Mexico University snapped a five-match losing streak Tuesday night with a 25-11, 24-26, 25-20, 25-21 victory.

The loss was the 16th in a row for the Lady Aggies (1-16), who had won only two games during the losing streak prior to Tuesday.

ENMU (5-14) went on an 8-2 run to open a 14-6 lead in the first set.

The Lady Aggies, though, overcame a 23-20 deficit with six of the final seven points in the second game to square the match. The teams then played even most of the way in the third before ENMU pulled out to a 22-17 advantage. Brandt’s kill, though, on set point gave the Zias a 2-1 lead.

King then led the way in the fourth game, collecting five kills with three total blocks. The zias turned a one-point lead into a 17-7 margin with a 12-3 run, but freshman Rocio Ovalle’s kill on match point sealed the win.

ENMU returns to Lone Star Conference play this weekend, hosting Central Oklahoma at 7 p.m. Thursday and Southwestern Oklahom at 2 p.m. Saturday at Greyhound Arena.
