Clovis blanks Hobbs

HOBBS — Quran Wiggins and Travis Davis each ran for more than 100 yards and a touchdown and Clovis beat Hobbs 30-0 Friday to win the District 4-5A title.

Kyler Brewer-Hill added an 80-yard TD pass to Shane Thompson as the Wildcats (8-2) won their fifth straight game

The Wildcats’ first shutout of the season was aided by four interceptions, including two by safety Pablo De La Rosa.

Clovis is hoping for the fourth seed in the 12-team state playoffs, which starts next week.

The top seeds earn a first-round bye.

The seeds will be announced Saturday night.

Hobbs finished the regular season at 3-7.
