Tucumcari High School principal David Castillo has been put on paid administrative leave as of 3 p.m. Wednesday according to Assistant Superintendent Dennis Roch.
Roch said steps have been taken to ensure the administrative services continue at the high school.
“It is still business as usual at Tucumcari High School,” Roch said.
An executive session for the discussion of “allegations of administrative misconduct” has been placed on Monday’s agenda for the regular meeting of the Tucumcari Public Schools Board of Education.
Roch declined to comment on the nature of the allegations or give a reason for the administrative leave.
Roch said law enforcement is not involved at this time.
Castillo could not be reached for comment.
