A judge will have to be selected from outside the area in the domestic assault case against former district attorney Randall Harris.
According to a notice filed Friday in the 9th Judicial District Court, the district’s five judges have recused themselves from Harris’ case, and the attorneys have been given 10 days to agree to a judge.
Harris’ case was moved from magistrate to district court in mid-December.
He waived a Jan. 11 arraignment scheduled in his case.
Harris, 48, was charged Oct. 4 with misdemeanor battery against a household member and assault against a household member, a petty misdemeanor.
His wife, Traci, told police Harris threatened her and pushed her into a door during a dispute at their home.
