The Dream Center Project in Portales is being planned for Saturday, April 24. United Way of Eastern New Mexico’s Day of Caring and Comcast’s Cares Day are joining together to build office space in the new Dream Center Building.
The Dream Center is a non-profit agency that provides free food, clothing, blankets, furniture, etc. to individuals in need. The Dream Center is managed and supported by Victory Life Church along with donations from the community.
Funds for the construction project are being raised through a raffle. Donate $1 for a chance to win one of the following prizes:
• $250 Extra Value Meals from McDonalds; five oil changes, valued at $40 each, from Hamilton Automotive Group; a $20 Winnie the Pooh Pen and a $150 crystal necklace, both from Woody’s Jewelry; two $50 Portales Rams hoodies from Big League Sports; a $50 gift certificate from Bar G Western & Casual Wear; two $25 gift certificates from Vines Italian Restaurant; two $20 gift certificates from Mark’s Restaurant and Catering.
• Event sponsors are also being sought for three levels of giving.. The levels are: Super Caring, $1,000 or more; Extra Caring, $500-$999; Caring, $200-$499. Names of donors will be placed on a sign to be permanently displayed in front of the Dream Center.
• In-kind donations are also needed. Examples are lumber, sheet rock, plywood, screws, joint clips, and lighting fixtures. For a complete list of needed materials, contact Christina Martinez at at 769-2103.
