Hank Baskett signs with Philly

Clovis native and pro football wide receiver Hank Baskett is a Philadelphia Eagle once again.

The Eagles announced signing Baskett early Friday.

“I’m glad we had a chance to get Hank back in Philadelphia,” Eagles coach Andy Reid said in a written statement. “Not only has he proven himself to be a productive receiver, but he also does a solid job on special teams. He’s a team player and his main focus has and always will be on helping his team win games. On top of all that, he’s a quality person.”

Terms of the contract with Philadelphia were not immediately released.

Baskett has been a free agent since March 4 after the Indianapolis Colts failed to re-sign him to a contract.

Baskett has played four seasons in the National Football League, mostly with the Philadelphia Eagles, who released him in the second week of last season to make room for quarterbacks Michael Vick and Jeff Garcia. Baskett signed with the Colts two days later.

Baskett has caught 76 passes for 1,080 yards, with six touchdowns in his career. He is a 2001 Clovis High graduate.
