Press release: Ninth Judicial District Attorney Matthew Chandler Presented with “Seven Seals Award”

Clovis, NM: The Ninth Judicial District Attorney’s Office announced today that Ninth Judicial District Attorney Matthew Chandler is a recipient of the elite Seven Seals Award from the Washington Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESRG). The ESRG is a branch of the Department of Defense that was originally created to promote cooperation between Reserve and National Guard military members and civilian employers.

The Seven Seals Award is the highest award given by the ESRG, and was created to publically recognize American Employers who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to employees and families of those that have been called to serve in our armed forces.

Since taking office in 2004, Ninth Judicial District Attorney Matthew Chandler has employed reservists acting as both local prosecutors and Judge Advocates General (JAG) in the Air Force, spouses of active duty military, veterans, and retirees of America’s armed forces.

District Attorney Chandler stated, “I am truly honored to receive this special award. As the District Attorney and a civilian employer, it is important to help maintain the strength and readiness of our armed forces by supporting those that work to protect both our community and our country.”

The award was presented by a representative from the Department of Defense during the ESGR Awards Banquet on May 1, 2010 at Clovis Civic Center in Clovis, New Mexico.
