Curry County has been awarded more than $27,000 for DWI programs.
The allocation brings the DWI fund to a total of nearly $350,000, said Assistant County Manager Connie Harrison in a press release.
The money is used to purchase equipment for law enforcement, fund treatment for offenders and will be used to hire a part-time preventionist to teach alcohol prevention in Grady and Melrose schools, the release said.
