Missing dog returned

We thank God for answering our prayers and we thank all of those who helped look for our Chihuahua, including the newspaper, dog catcher, police department, university police, students, many residents and our dad, Alga D. Hahn.

Thanks to all the many people who called in response to our ad about our black and white dog, Rolex. He was returned last Wednesday by a local resident, Kurt Vigil. Thanks.

Big Brothers, Big Sisters program thanks community

To the communities of Clovis and Portales:

On behalf of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeastern New Mexico, we’d like to send out a special thank you to everyone who worked together to make the Big Day of Play Halloween Festival a success.

On Oct. 30, children and families from Curry and Roosevelt Counties gathered at Hillcrest Park to celebrate Halloween along with the services that Big Brothers Big Sisters provides to our community.

We are so pleased to announce that we recruited several children and adult volunteers to our program. Big Brothers Big Sisters is an effective mentoring program that provides positive adult volunteers to children. Each of our volunteers have the potential to make life-changing imprints on a child’s life. We hope that all who attended had a blast jumping on the inflatable jumpers, visiting the Halloween booths, food and refreshments provided by different restaurants around town, contests, prizes, and entertainment provided by Cowboy Mafia.

We’d like to extend our appreciation to everyone who helped and attended the event.

A special thank you to Bill Bizzell and Claire Burroughs for all of their help and support; The Clovis News Journal; and Rooney and Moon for their marketing assistance and allowing us to be guests on their show. Also the following donors and participants:

ENMRSH Early Childhood Prevention and Autism Services, ITS Quest, Matt 25 Program, Clovis Community College, Vista Care, Trinity Lutheran Church, Clovis Police Department; Food Donation: Foxy Drive-In, Papa John’s Pizza, Albertsons, Snappy Tomato, and Taco Box; Entertainment: Cowboy Mafia. Prizes: Taco Box, McDonalds, Grease Monkey, Main Line Bowl, Scents Sensations, Roden Smith, Roller World, and Chili’s.
