Cleaning up

Curry County is looking for non-profits to step up and help clean up the county.

Non-profit organizations will be paid through grants and supplies such as trash bags and gloves will be provided.

Today in history

On this day in 1936, in one of the first sit-down strikes in the United States, autoworkers occupied the General Motors Fisher Body Plant Number One in Flint, Mich.

The autoworkers were striking to win recognition of the United Auto Workers (UAW) as the only bargaining agent for GM’s workers.
