Last time out: The Greyhounds won their third in a row in the South for the first time since January 2007, edging Incarnate Word 96-91 on Monday at San Antonio. The Javelinas lost at home to division champion Tarleton State 57-37 on Saturday.
Last meeting: Jan. 12, ENMU thumped the Javs 70-49 at Greyhound Arena in the division opener.
Of note: The Hounds won their fourth South road game on Monday, the first time that’s happened since 2005-06. Their seven division victories are the most since back-to-back South titles in 2003 (11-1) and 2004 (10-2). … Kingsville was 5-5 in mid-December, but has since lost 11 of 14. … Only 5-9 senior PG Antwan Mullins (11.7 ppg) averages in double figures for the Javs. He also has a team-high 71 assists. … Kingsville is 5-8 at home, including 1-5 in the South. Its most impressive win was a 77-73 verdict at West Texas A&M on Feb. 5 behind 31 points from Mullins. It was a team scoring high and one of only three times the Javelinas, averaging 59 ppg, have reached 70 this season. They’ve been held under 50 points five times. … Eight players have started at least 10 games for Kingsville.

Last time out: ENMU let a 17-point, first-half lead get away in a 58-57 loss at Incarnate Word on Monday. Kingsville absorbed an 88-64 loss to division champion Tarleton State on Saturday.
Last meeting: Jan. 12, ENMU erased a double-figure deficit with a 17-0 run in the second half and beat the Javelinas 69-64 at Greyhound Arena.
Of note: It’s an understatement to say both teams are struggling. The Zias have lost seven in a row and 10 of 11; the Javelinas have lost seven in a row and 14 of 15. … Monday’s loss at UIW was the third by one point this season for ENMU. The Zias have also lost by three points to Abilene Christian on Saturday, by six to Tarleton and in overtime to Cameron — a game in which a 15-point lead with four minutes left in regulation evaporated in a 15-0 Lady Aggies run. … The Zias lead the LSC in blocked shots per game (3.625) while Kingsville and ACU are tied for second (3.583), each with one less block. … Kingsville’s 11-player roster consists of five freshmen, four sophomores and two juniors. … Novella Thomas, a 5-foot-10 freshman wing, is Kingsville’s lone double-figure scorer (10.4 ppg), although 5-11 sophomore P Victoria Gonzalez ranks third in the LSC in rebounds (9.3 rpg) and blocks (1.7 bpg). … Kingsville is 3-8 at home, including 1-5 in the South. Its only division win was an 85-65 drubbing of Midwestern State on Jan. 26. … The Javs are in a virtual tie for last place with Incarnate Word in the LSC in scoring (59.1 ppg), with ENMU one notch ahead (60.3).
