Good morning and welcome to the Freedom New Mexico Wednesday briefing.

Fast fact

Aviator Charles Lindbergh helped establish a transcontinental plane-train service that included a stop in Clovis.

The terminal built in 1928-29 about eight miles west of Clovis eventually grew into what we know today as Cannon Air Force Base.

Mirror, mirror

The Portales Recreation Center is renovating its fitness studio, with two large mirrors being the most recent addition.

The studio has already received new wall paint, dumbbells and equipment for step aerobics.

The city also plans to provide more yoga mats, new stability balls and a wooden floor to absorb impact.
