Press release: Man gets 10 years for home invasion

Clovis, NM ~ Ninth Judicial District Attorney Matthew Chandler announced today that Kenny Hodge, age 53, was sentenced to serve ten (10) years in the Department of Corrections for one (1) count of Armed Robbery and one (1) count of Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon.

This sentence stems from an incident that occurred in the early morning hours of March 29, 2009, when Clovis Police officers were dispatched to a Clovis residence for a possible burglary. Officers on the scene found the victim with severe injuries to his head and hand. During the course of the investigation, authorities learned that the victim was assaulted by three individuals that attempted to enter his home and take his wallet. Several tips led authorities to place Kenny Hodge as one of the assailants and the victim was able to positively identify him from a photo line-up. A warrant was drafted for Hodge and he was arrested for the attack shortly thereafter.

The Honorable Judge Robert Orlik presided over the proceedings and Chief Deputy District Attorney Andrea Reeb prosecuted the case for the State of New Mexico. After release from his ten (10) year sentence, Hodge will face an additional two (2) years of intensively supervised parole.
