The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) began pavement rehabilitation work earlier this month on a 6.4 mile section of U.S. 70 (Prince Street) from Brady Street in Clovis to the county line, from mile marker 434 to mile marker 441.
This pavement rehabilitation project will cost approximately $6 million. The project consists of a pavement removal and overlay, concrete sidewalk, ADA improvements, traffic control, pavement markings, and miscellaneous construction. This work will improve the road surface and extend the service life of the roadway.
Work is scheduled to be complete in five months, during that time a single-lane closure will be in place from 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Motorists are asked to watch for construction personnel working in the area, observe temporary lane closures, and reduce speed while work is taking place.
