Our people: Fan of the 50s

Liliana Castillo: Freedom New Mexico Portales resident Nancy Gentry said her poodle, Zuni, intentionally avoids photographs.

Portales resident Nancy Gentry has worked in banking, telecommunications, real estate and public service as a Roosevelt County Probate Judge for 10 years.

She adopted a rescue poodle and named him Zuni and her children joke that he’s replaced them.

Gentry, 63, has an extensive collection of Coca Cola and 50s memorabilia in several rooms in her home.

One of her favorite past times is keeping up with people and friends from junior high and high school.

“I love reunions and just visiting with all the people from Portales,” Gentry said.
