A 24-year-old Clovis man was arrested Friday after investigators found 83 individual packages of marijuana in his home.

Mark Anthony Pineda is charged with distribution of marijuana, child abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia and is being held in lieu of $16,000 bond, according to a press release from the Curry County Sheriff’s Office.

Agents with the region’s drug task force found the marijuana inside Pineda’s home in the 100 block of Tucker Avenue while serving a search warrant, the release said.

Through the investigation it was determined he had been smoking marijuana in the presence of his 1-year-old child just before agents arrived.

The estimated value of the marijuana is $5,000, the release said
