Wednesday morning briefing: Egg-citing possibilities and the universe off and running

Good morning and welcome to the Freedom New Mexico Wednesday briefing.

Something to crow about

Excuse the pun, but M.K. Thompson of Clovis isn’t kidding around when he says he’s after a Guinness World Record for having found the world’s smallest egg.

Thompson, who raises a variety of chickens, says he discovered the dime-size brown egg Monday while collecting from his hens.

He says he looked up the Guinness record, described as the size of a penny.

“So I’ve already filled out the paperwork online and I’m just waiting to hear from them (Guinness),” Thompson said.

Ride for Life

A trail ride to benefit the American Cancer Society is set for Saturday and Sunday at the Lazy LB Ranch, 4865 Quay Road L, San Jon, according to the Roosevelt County Chamber of Commerce website.

The $40 registration covers trail rides and food for both days.
